Rankings Review
Our best running back ranking 2023 list is led by Christian McCaffrey. He leads a high powered San Francisco offense which ranked fifth in the league last season. Since he’ll have a full offseason to embrace Kyle Shanahans’ scheme, we expect huge dividends to be paid to fantasy football owners.
Furthermore, our biggest surprise when compiling our ranking was how high we have Rhamondre Stevenson. He’ll be the focal point in Bill O’Briens’ new offense in New England.
If the Patriots are able to get in the red-zone more often in 2023, then Stevenson will produce north of 12 touchdowns.
We currently have Josh Jacobs (fifth) and Saquon Barkley (eighth) both ranked inside our top 10. Unfortunately neither back has signed their franchise tag offered by their respective teams.
Despite both backs holding out, its Barkley and the Giants that seem to have irreconcilable differences and a divorce is imminent– which is why he lands eighth.
At the time of this writing both plan on holding out for a long-term deal. If the Raiders and Giants can’t come to a mutual agreement with their players, then they’ll slide outside our top 10.
Since the NFL offseason training camps have just officially opened, our list will remain fluid throughout the summer. Stay tuned for best running back rankings updates.
